Herald

A herald is a figure that issues a challenge for the hero. Heralds can modivate, challenge, or alret the hero. There a different types of Heralds, positive herald, negative hero, or neutral hero.

Sheldon, Tad, and Peral are hearlds because they issue a challenge for Marlin. In the movie the fish encourage Nemo to swim off the reef to touch a "butt," also known as a boat. Marlin arives to see Nemo out in the sea and commands him to come back, on Nemo's way back a scubba diver scoops Nemo up, sending Marlin on and adventure to find him.
